Sexism or Not

I wouldn't say I'm a sexist person at all, however I do feel the victim of this currently as a man. I feel that sexism has gone the other way and you will probably see what I mean and have witnessed the same yourself. I am all for equality everywhere, not just in the work place, meaning that everyone is treated the same and has the same opportunities.

Let me give you two recent examples:

1) Dress Code: How many times do you see woman in work with vest top, all kinds of t-shirts or blouses, jeans, shorts, flip flops, 3/4 length bright green trousers (fill in the colours) etc? Personally, everyday and what do the males of the organisation have to wear.....white shirt mostly, tie, black trousers, black shoes and a name badge whether it is freezing cold or boiling hot. Women can't apparently because "men look better dressed smart", "it is out dated, why should we (women) wear outdated clothes i.e. cravat, shirt, skirt/trousers, and shoes", also "the name badge doesn't go with my outfit" or "the name badge puts wholes in my nice top".

2) Promotion: No this may be controversial, but is how I see it currently. The older generation of people, where men were managers and woman worked for this (which is outdated by the way) has made the balance all wrong, so for example only 1 in 20 managers are female. With the younger generation, it seems that there both sexes fight for jobs, however despite being sometimes better at the job and the same age, the woman will get the job as per the figures mentioned previously so they can be see to be 50/50.

Makes you think though, doesn't it, or is it just me. I not blaming women for this, but management everywhere, ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!

There are probably more like this, but I think I will leave it there for now. SORRY
