RHYL businesses are set for a boost this Christmas with a host of festive events and free parking expected to attract shoppers.
Parking at a number of locations will be free on November 29 and December 6, 13 and 20 while a free ice rink will be one of a number of festive events in December.
Over the weekend of December 13 and 14 the 10m x 10m artificial ice rink, with snow machine and sound system, will be located at the rear of Rhyl Town Hall.
Other events throughout the weekend include live ice sculpting, stiltwalkers and music from Rhyl Silver Band and a four-piece Bavarian-style band.
Cllr David Simmons, mayor of Rhyl, will be helping X Factor winner Sam Bailey turn on the town’s Christmas lights on November 27.
On December 6 the cast of Snow White, including Ruth Madoc, will be in the town centre along with a First World War interactive exhibition and music from Rhyl Silver Band.
Sian Davies, county events manager for Denbighshire, said: “There will be plenty of fun for all the family to enjoy. These events are going to be a real boost for the town. It is going to assist the businesses in the town centre.
“There are some really exciting things going on.”
A spokesman for Rhyl Town Council said: “To help support local businesses and shoppers Rhyl Town Council, in conjunction with Denbighshire County Council, is pleased to announce that parking will be free on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas.”

Free parking does not apply to on-street parking or privately owned car parks within Rhyl.
