What is TCP/IP?

What is TCP/IP, well it is the protocol that surely all of use have used in our daily life without possibly even knowing it exists. It basically allows for communication between devices over the internet.

TCP and IP are separate protocols, but often written together because of their closeness. I see it as TCP, who are you, where am I going, what am I sending and in what order and was I delivered successfully, if not re-send. IP is more the data of what you are sending i.e. PDF document content, picture, video, email etc. These are sent in small chunks and put together again on the other side.

Thank you Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn, and all other involved with this.
